About Me |
|
As a dual citizen of the UK and the USA, I grew up mainly in rural Klamath County, Oregon, but occasionally spent time in both coastal Kent, England and the bustling city of London. While my upbringing in small-town America allowed me the space to roam freely, exploring the countryside as I pleased, my years in England allowed for a more urban-inspired experience. Although vastly different, both experiences molded my appreciation and awe for the outdoors by giving me a variety of settings to understand and interact with--whether it was navigating busy city streets or discovering how far I could jump from one hay bale to another.
My love for the outdoors certainly blossomed even more as I left my small town to pursue my undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon. While I was not entirely sure of what I planned to apply a degree in Environmental Studies towards, I knew that this field was only going to become increasingly valuable as a basis for understanding our dynamic, changing planet. I had grown up tending to a family garden full of a variety of plant species, and I had thoroughly enjoyed learning about the many wonders of the plant world. My college experience opened the door to a wealth of other environmental learning opportunities, including tree identification, native species landscaping, and forest ecology. With that, my time spent in the University's Environmental Leadership Program further solidified my relationship with the natural world.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, I plan to continue learning about nature, and secure a position with either the U.S. Forest Service, or enter a job in the environmental restoration field.
